What is the recovery time for eyelid surgery?

I want to undergo eyelid surgery, so I’m curious about the recovery time. How long does the initial healing phase last, and when does most of the bruising fade. Will I need to take time off from work, and if so, for how long.

I had incisional double eyelid surgery, and the recovery process was smoother than I expected. The first week came with some swelling and bruising, but the clear aftercare instructions really helped a lot. By the second week, most of the swelling had gone down, and I was able to return to my normal routine. By the end of the first month, my eyes were healing well, and the results were starting to look more defined.

The recovery for lower bleph isn’t exactly painful, but it is definitely annoying. I did mine at Will Plastic Surgery in Seoul because my eyebags were getting so bad that I looked like a zombie even after ten hours of sleep. For the first three or four days, I looked like I had been in a fight. My eyes were super watery and I had to constantly go back and forth with ice packs. The stitches came out on day five and that is when the swelling finally started to chill out. I’d say give it a solid ten days before you expect to look normal in public. I still had some faint yellow bruising after a week, but concealer handled it.

I always felt my upper eyelids made me look tired, so I decided to have eyelid surgery. During the consultation, everything was explained clearly, and the environment felt welcoming and professional. The procedure itself was quick and relatively painless, and the recovery went smoothly. I experienced some swelling and bruising at first, but within two weeks, there was a noticeable improvement. After about a month, my eyes looked more refreshed and natural.

The early healing period typically lasts around one to two weeks. Bruising often peaks in the first few days and then gradually fades within 10 days or so. Planning for about a week off from work is a safe choice for most people. Even though you may look presentable after two weeks, subtle swelling can take a little longer to fully resolve.

The initial healing phase after eyelid surgery usually lasts about 7–10 days. Swelling and bruising are most noticeable in the first week but tend to fade significantly by the second week. Many people take around 5–7 days off from work, especially if their job involves meeting others. You’ll likely feel comfortable returning once the visible bruising improves.

You can expect the first 7–10 days to be the main recovery period. Bruising often fades within two weeks, though mild swelling can last a bit longer. If you have a desk job, about a week off is typically enough. For more physical work, you might consider taking up to two weeks to heal properly.

My friend had eyelid surgery in Seoul and said the procedure was quick with a very professional team. She had swelling and bruising for about a week and returned to her normal routine in around 10 days. Full recovery took about 4–6 weeks, but she noticed natural results much earlier. She’s very happy with how everything turned out.

I had eyelid surgery at Browneye Medical Clinic, and my recovery was smoother than I expected. The swelling was noticeable for the first few days, but it started improving within a week, and I was able to resume normal activities in about 10–14 days. Full healing and final results took a few weeks, but overall the process felt well managed and comfortable.

From my experience, bruising mostly faded within 10–14 days. The initial healing phase is around a week, but subtle swelling can last a bit longer. I took 5 days off since I work at a desk job, and it was manageable.

Honestly, recovery wasn’t as bad as I expected. The first few days were puffy, but by day 10 it looked much better. I’d suggest taking at least a week off work, especially if you meet people face-to-face.

I’m 3 months post-op now. The first week had swelling and light bruising, but it went down quickly. I returned to work after 7 days, just wearing glasses for a few days. Full healing takes a few weeks, but you’ll feel normal pretty fast.

I had mine done a while ago! The first 3–4 days were the most swollen, but it slowly got better after that. By the end of the first week, the bruising had faded a lot. I took 7 days off work and felt comfortable going back.

It really depends on your healing, but for me, the initial recovery was about a week. Most of the bruising was gone by day 10. I went back to work after a week, just kept makeup light and avoided heavy activity.

The swelling peaks in the first few days, then improves quickly. I’d say within 10–14 days, it looks pretty normal. I personally took 5–6 days off since I work from home, and that worked fine for me.

A friend who visited Gangnam Seoyon Plastic Surgery for eyelid surgery shared that the recovery was actually much easier than they had expected. In the first few days, there was some swelling and slight bruising, which is completely normal, especially around days 2–3 when it tends to peak. But within about a week, most of the visible swelling had already gone down, and they were able to comfortably go out and resume light daily activities. They mentioned that stitches were removed after around 5–7 days, and after that, things started to feel much more natural. By the second week, the eyes looked significantly better, though there was still some mild swelling that only they could notice. Over the next 1–2 months, the final shape gradually settled into place, becoming more refined and natural-looking. Overall, they described the recovery as a step by step improvement rather than something difficult manageable in the short term, with full results becoming clear over time.

For me, bruising lasted about a week and mild swelling stuck around for maybe two weeks. I’d recommend taking at least a week off if you can. After that, you should feel pretty comfortable socially.

Everyone heals differently, but I felt mostly back to normal after 7–10 days. The worst part is really just the first few days. I took one week off, avoided exercise for two weeks, and everything healed smoothly.

My sister had eyelid surgery at Yujin Plastic Surgery & Dermatology & Stem Cell Research Center in Seoul, and her recovery was smooth. Swelling and bruising improved within two weeks, and she resumed light activities in about 10 days. Dr. Tae-jo Kang personally oversaw her care, and by one month, her eyes looked refreshed and natural.

I totally get your concern. For me, the first week was mostly swelling and slight bruising, especially around days 2–4. By day 10, it looked much better, and I felt fine going out. I took a full week off work just to be safe, and that was enough. After two weeks, it looked pretty natural
