My friend recently had Laser Treatments at BION Plastic Surgery in Seoul and overall her experience was pretty positive.
One thing that stood out to her was how much attention was given to understanding her skin concerns before deciding on the treatment. She mainly wanted to improve the overall appearance of her skin and make it look clearer and more even without doing anything too aggressive. During the consultation, Dr. Hwang Gwi hwan discussed her concerns and explained what could realistically be improved rather than making her expect a dramatic transformation.
The treatment itself was much easier for her than she initially expected. She was slightly nervous beforehand because she had never had laser treatment in Korea and was unsure how uncomfortable it would feel. During the procedure she experienced some warmth and mild discomfort in certain areas, but she found it manageable. What helped was being able to understand what was happening during the treatment instead of feeling completely unsure about the process.
The recovery was probably the part she paid the most attention to. Her skin looked slightly different immediately afterward and there was some temporary redness, so she knew she needed to give her skin time to settle. She said the first few days were mostly about being patient and following the aftercare instructions rather than expecting to see the final result immediately.
Another thing she appreciated was how organized the overall visit felt. Since Seoul has so many aesthetic clinics, she had spent quite a lot of time comparing different options before making her decision. She eventually realized that choosing a clinic is not only about the treatment itself. Things like consultation quality, communication, aftercare and understanding what to expect after the procedure are also important when you are travelling to another country.
From what I saw afterward, the changes were fairly subtle but noticeable to her. Her skin looked more refreshed and the overall texture appeared more even. She did not suddenly look like a completely different person, which was actually what she wanted. She was mainly hoping for healthier looking skin and a more refreshed appearance rather than an obvious cosmetic change.
Her experience also made me realize that laser treatments can be quite different depending on the person’s skin condition and the treatment that is recommended. So anyone researching laser treatments should probably focus on whether the treatment is appropriate for their own concerns rather than simply choosing something because they saw impressive before and after photos online.
Has anyone else here had Laser Treatments in South Korea? I would be interested in hearing how different clinics handled the consultation, treatment experience and aftercare because those details seem really useful when researching clinics.
