If you had to explain to a friend why you chose a skin booster, what would you say?

Skin booster conversations with people who aren’t in the aesthetic treatment world can be… interesting. How do you explain why you had something injected into your face to improve hydration and texture?

We’ve had patients describe some genuinely creative attempts to explain skin boosters to partners, friends, or family members who weren’t familiar with the category.

“It’s like a vitamin drip, but for your face.” “It’s not filler — it doesn’t add volume, it improves the quality.” “It’s collagen from the inside.”

Some of these are technically imperfect but emotionally accurate. Which is actually a fair description of how most people communicate medical decisions to non-medical audiences.

At BLS Clinic, we offer a range of skin boosters — HA-based, PN-based, peptide and growth factor formulas — and even patients who understand the clinical differences sometimes struggle to explain why they chose them.

So we’re curious: if you’ve had skin booster treatment, how do you explain it to people in your life? And did the explanation change how they reacted to the idea?

Curious about which skin booster might be right for your concern? Post a question or reach out to the BLS Clinic team.

I’d probably explain it as something that focuses more on improving skin quality than adding volume. For me, the main reason would be better hydration and texture without wanting a filler-like change.
