We recently treated a patient who was concerned about an overlapping eyelid fold that made the eyes appear uneven and less defined.
Overlapping folds can occur when existing eyelid creases intersect or sit too closely together, sometimes creating an irregular or asymmetrical appearance. Correction requires careful assessment of the existing crease, eyelid tissue, skin, and the patient’s natural eye shape.
For this patient, the goal was not simply to create a new crease, but to improve the fold pattern while maintaining natural-looking proportions and symmetry. The surgical approach was planned based on the individual eyelid anatomy rather than using a one-size-fits-all technique.
Recovery can vary from person to person. Temporary swelling, bruising, tightness, and changes in crease definition are common during the early healing period, and the final appearance may take time to settle.
