One of our patients visited Renu Plastic Surgery with concerns about stubborn abdominal fullness and a lack of definition around the waistline. Although the patient had been maintaining a relatively consistent lifestyle, the distribution of localized fat around the abdomen remained a concern.
During the consultation, the surgeon assessed the patient’s abdominal area from multiple angles, including the front, sides, and waistline. Rather than focusing on a single area, the overall distribution of fat and the patient’s natural body proportions were considered when discussing treatment options.
Based on the assessment and the patient’s goals, 360° abdomen liposuction was discussed as an option for addressing localized fat around the abdominal region more comprehensively. The treatment plan was individualized according to the patient’s anatomy, with the goal of creating a more balanced transition between the abdomen, waist, and surrounding areas.
Following the procedure, the patient received post-operative instructions and attended scheduled follow-up appointments. During the recovery period, swelling gradually decreased, allowing the changes in abdominal and waist contour to become more apparent over time.
The patient reported being pleased with the gradual change in body contour and felt that the overall abdominal area appeared more balanced.
This case also highlights why liposuction planning is not based simply on how much fat can be removed. Factors such as fat distribution, body proportions, skin condition, and the patient’s desired contour all need to be considered when developing an individualized treatment plan.
