Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m glad Dr. Seonghyeok Yang and Dr. Woong Heo guided you clearly and that the clinic’s care made your recovery smooth. It’s great to hear you’re already enjoying a natural, more defined look and feeling confident with the results.
After my jaw and chin contouring procedure, my recovery experience was surprisingly positive. The swelling peaked around day 3, but I was reassured that it was a normal part of the healing process. By two weeks, most of the puffiness had subsided. I experienced some mild numbness for a while, but it wasn’t too uncomfortable.
Don’t plan any big social events or trips for at least a month after surgery. Even if you feel okay, your face will still be healing internally, and getting tired or bumped could set you back. Give yourself permission to be a bit of a hermit during the early recovery weeks.
You won’t be able to smile normally for a while because your facial muscles feel stiff and numb. This can make you look expressionless in photos or when talking to strangers. It fades gradually, but in the meantime, just let people know you’re recovering from a procedure.
My sister underwent facial contouring surgery, and the first week involved swelling and bruising, which gradually improved. By the second week, she was able to resume light activities, and by the third week, she felt much more comfortable. She received excellent aftercare, including lymphatic massages and regular follow-up appointments. She is thrilled with her new facial contours and feels much more confident.
In general, the initial recovery phase focuses on keeping the surgical area clean without irritation. Patients are advised to be gentle while washing and avoid direct contact with incisions until healing progresses.
