Chemotherapy can sometimes lead to elevated blood sugar levels, either temporarily or as a new complication. What is the typical cost of managing high blood sugar caused by chemotherapy, including expenses for medications, insulin, blood sugar monitoring, doctor visits, and follow-up tests? Does the cost vary depending on the type of chemotherapy, duration of treatment, or whether the condition becomes long-term?

Managing chemo-related blood sugar isn’t a fixed cost it depends on your treatment, how long the sugar stays high, and what meds you need. For me, it started with monitoring and occasional meds, and costs stayed low once levels stabilized.

It really depends on how severe the blood sugar problem is. Early on, costs are mostly for check-ups and glucose strips, but if it becomes long-term or requires insulin, the expenses go up. Personally, planning with your doctor helps avoid surprises.
