Ankle ligament reconstruction usually has good long-term outcomes, but risks include infection, stiffness, nerve irritation, or lingering pain. Some people also worry about instability, but it’s less common with proper rehab. I had the surgery, and stiffness was my main issue at first, but physio helped a lot.

The main risks are infection, stiffness, nerve damage, chronic pain, and sometimes the ankle still feels unstable. Long-term results are generally positive, but recovery is long and rehab matters a lot.
