My grandmother visits a clinic in Korea regularly, and from what she tells us, the doctor mainly focuses on her physical symptoms and then briefly checks her daily routine. They ask what she eats at home, whether she walks enough, and how her sleep is. The advice is usually very practical, like reducing salt or taking short walks. Mental health is not openly discussed, but they do ask indirect questions about loneliness or sleep quality.

A close friend of mine recently went to a medical center for ongoing fatigue and was surprised by how much time the doctor spent talking through her daily habits, sleep, stress, and diet. Instead of just focusing on symptoms, it felt like they were looking at her overall lifestyle. She found the place online, and the experience felt very different from her past visits more like a real conversation than a checklist. She especially appreciated being heard when talking about stress and mental well being.

When my mother visited Korea, she started feeling unusually tired and unwell, so we arranged for her to see a doctor through a coordinated medical service. Her consultation was very detailed and unhurried. The doctor asked about her daily routine, diet, sleep, and energy levels before suggesting any tests, which felt very different from what she was used to back home. Everything was clearly explained in English, and she felt well taken care of and at ease throughout the visit.
