How long do people typically stay in Korea after having plastic surgery?

I spent 9 days in Seoul for facial fat grafting. My face had lost a lot of volume and looked hollow under the eyes and in the temples. They took fat from my inner thighs and injected it into my cheeks, forehead, and undereye area. My face looks much more youthful and plump now. I decided to leave on day 9 because the swelling had finally started to look like normal puffiness rather than a surgical procedure. The donor site on my leg was also healed enough that sitting for a long flight was not painful.

I spent 7 days there for eyelid ptosis correction. My eyelids were droopy and affecting my vision. Surgery was quick, and I had a follow-up after a few days. Once stitches were removed and swelling reduced, I flew back. My vision improved almost immediately.

A very practical reason people stay longer is stitches. Many facial procedures involve sutures that need to be removed around day 5–10. Clinics prefer to do this themselves rather than leaving it to a doctor in another country who didn’t perform the surgery. That alone can extend your stay to at least a week. Add one more follow-up after removal, and suddenly you’re closer to 10–12 days.

After my surgery in Korea, I stayed for about 10 days for follow-up care. Having that time for monitoring really made the recovery process feel much easier. The surgeon was incredibly thorough, and the post-op care provided by the staff was excellent throughout my stay.

I stayed for 8 days after my lower blepharoplasty at 1mm Plastic Surgery. I had very prominent eye bags that made me look permanently exhausted, and the surgeon did a transconjunctival incision to redistribute the fat pads under my eyes. The results are so smooth and I no longer look tired. I decided to go home once the doctor confirmed that the internal stitches were healing well and my vision was perfectly clear. Since there were no external stitches to remove, a week was plenty of time.
